As I may have mentioned each issue of observations will center around a ..theme. For this, the second issue, I have chosen “portraits” as the theme. It has long remained one of my favorite genres of photography. And… who doesn’t like a good portrait. While, as you view a portrait, sometimes they look so simple to make. You have someone stand a few feet in front of you and the “click!” Not so! Sure there is the rare instance when that may actually work, but the results are mostly tacky, at best

After many years of publishing the artistic endeavors of others, I finally decided as I reached 80…to take off the mask and offer my personal observations on the many things that continue to impress and inspire me to continue photographing, traveling, writing poems and essays, as well as dabbling in other artistic adventures.

• Images, poetics, and essays will arrive in each issue that may reflect where I am or where I have been.

• As opposed to my other work, which is mostly released online or in a PDF format, this series will only be available in a printed format. No PDFs.

• All work contained in each issue will be mine, and will be released bi-monthly. You will be able to acquire issues individually or by subscription.

• If you subscribe for the annual/6 issue product, your first subscribed release will be the June/July issue.
